Our family is raising money towards the extraordinary cost of adjusting my husband's immigration status. The process will likely take 18 months to 2.5 years, and just to give a reference point to those unfamiliar, realistically won't cost less than 10K. We've been laying the groundwork to do this, slowly, over the past 5 years, however  there are still lawyer fees, filing costs, travel to Mexico (where has to go to apply for his visa), and income lost while he's away and not able to work. We know this is an extraordinarily complex and sensitive social issue; we are just one family, living our reality, trying to secure our future.
