DeGarmo Home Of 26 Years Caught On Fire

Donation protected

Dear Friends, Family, and Surrounding Communities.

Hi, my name is Megan T. Stanley and I am beseeching you for your generosity and kind donations on behalf of my Cousin Lee DeGarmo and his Wife Nova DeGarmo all donations go directly to them.

Tragically this morning at 10 AM, my cousin and his families homestead property in Corbin Kentucky that they’ve owned for 26 years and lived in was caught on fire, Intentionally by somebody and the investigator said it was arson.

The family has lost everything that they owned, and this is complete devastation to this family.

My cousin Lee and his wife Nova who owns the homestead stated: I just buried my father in January 2024, and my mother April 2022. I/we felt ourworld was coming to an end then and now this has happened. I have nothing I lost all family pictures, clothes, furniture “Everything” but I haven’t lost my “FAITH” is all I have left and my family so with that being said I am rich with those two things, that money can’t buy.

This land has been in our family over 100 years!

The family includes Lee and Nova DeGarmo and 3 daughters Madison DeGarmo, Nevaeh Wells, Layla Wells and grandson Bently McMurray.

I am just trying to cope and understand though I am not sure I honestly can at least not right now, this has rocked us to the core both mentally and physically.

My cousin and his family would appreciate anything that anyone can do in this great time of need, to say they are devastated is a understatement.

I am acutely sensitive to the fact that there are other families unable to work and going through troubling times of there own. I recognize all communities are suffering in many capacities all over our nation. But the loss of there home is unexpected and I am asking for any assistance if you are able to provide to help my cousins and family to help cover the unexpected and massive shock of there homestead burning to the ground.

Every heartfelt donation, whatever the size will be a blessing and a relief of the financial burden of this. Lee and his Wife Nova is the sole beneficiary of these funds, and everything donated will go straight to their family!

I am also asking for you to pray for peace and comfort for my cousin and his family today and the days ahead.

Please consider giving to support this family if you are able, as he and his family begins this journey of healing. I will post updates as often as I can.

Thank you so much for your love and support and prayers for the DeGarmo Family.

Update: 3.10.24

Hello everyone, this is Megan Stanley and I just wanted to give you an update on today which is Sunday, March 10, 2024 first off I want to start off by saying thank you very much for everyone who has already donated to my cousin and his family.

Thus far they are over $900 in such a short time, and all that money will be used to help my cousin and his family.

The family is homeless at this point and our goal is to find them a place to live and or hopefully find a mobile home vendor or someone in the community that would be willing to donate something to them on the families land, so they can live back on their land .

There are so many unknowns right now at this point, so we are just trying to take a day by day I live out of state and I’m trying my best to facilitate as much as I can for them during this very difficult and trying time as you know Life one minute can be one way and it can be another the next and unfortunately for my cousin and his family, that’s what they’re looking at to say they’re devastated is an understatement to have memories and a home of 26 years to be completely wiped out is something no family should ever go to and it’s an unbearable feeling, the home that you and your wife have the home that you brought your children to once they are born the home that you have Christmases Thanksgiving and Easter Easter egg hunts ..,this year won’t be happening for their new grandson who also was welcomed in this home as a baby, the families faith is extremely strong and that’s what carries them and it will continue to carry them and these hard times this family is resilient and they know in the end everything will be OK and that’s what you have to do with living by faith, we want again to say thank you to each and everyone of you -please continue to share the page.

Please continue to share it with friends and family community in Corbin and beyond. Today at 3:30, I believe my cousin and his family are going to be interviewed by the news there in Corbin Kentucky. I really hope that this will help facilitate a way to help them get the word out even more so and get the help that they need. Again I sincerely want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart we appreciate you we see you! I am attaching pictures below so y’all can see the family and who they are. Easter is right around the corner and at this time they will be homeless for this, but… with the community with the News outlets with friends and family. I know it is possible to have them in a home. I know it’s possible for this to work.
