Welcome to Jamal's and Samara's baby shower. The babies are due any day now and there is much to be thankful for!

Jamal's wide smile and positive attitude have had an impact on so many people--from the high school to Chenery and the middle school. Jamal worked at Belmont High before he joined Chenery in September 2023 giving more of us the opportunity to know him. His easygoing attitude and bright outlook can make his ongoing battle with kidney disease easy to overlook; he is someone who tends to celebrate his blessings rather than share his struggles.

To complicate his health issues, on October 19, 2025, Jamal suffered a stroke which paralyzed the left side of his body, including his leg, arm, and face. True to his nature, Jamal has persevered through months of rehabilitation and has tackled adversity with optimism. He is currently able to walk and is working on gaining his strength. He fingers are moving a little bit.

As you can imagine, the family medical bills are steep.

Our wish is to repay Jamal's endearing kindness with this online family shower. We're sending our strength and support, Jamal & Samara!
