UPDATE: Yes! The family will step on MN soil in a week. Finding a safe place to rest with baby is their # goal. It would be great if you can help get us over the goal line. We are only 1/3 there. Hi Friends and Family,

I am supporting a friend who is sponsoring a family from Haiti. If you have seen any of the news, you know that life is very difficult in that small country. This family has waited over a year to get out and "Dad", separated from his wife due to visa difficulties, made it just in time for the birth. Whew!

I spent an afternoon with "Dad" - a wonderful young man who is polite, sincere and thoughtful. You may not know this but immigrants who arrive from certain countries are NOT given assistance and they are NOT automatically eligible to seek employment. "Dad" wants to be productive but cannot legally take a job. Therefore, his friend who is married with two young children has the responsibility of supporting him. That is a lot to take on for a friend.

So, you wonder why tell me all this? I hope that you will find it in your heart to assist with a donation to help lift this family up as they make a new start in this country. All the donations will support the family.
