WHAT
RORY'S story and inspiration for “I Wasn’t Kidding, Now I Am” originated from a simple observation and love of children. See My STORY – BELOW (See for this book on HOW - Familyconnectionsforlife.com - click & read sample of part of the book)
I ask for your help and help from those you know who love children and want them to have the same chance of success that you have had. The times are different, but family connections can be for life! I have calculated the need for $8,000 will fund the marketing program to cause a wave for the greater success. Be a part of it with any donation of $5 or more.
WHY
To help parents take better control and do it without harsh criticism, harsh discipline or loud screaming. To create a good foundation for family values stuck before they went out on the outside negative world.

MY STORY of HOW & WHEN
My story of how “I Wasn’t Kidding, Now I Am” came about because my dad. He was a policeman and he taught me to be very observant; I notice many things others do not plus I am very curious. My book went from observation to a dream, an idea and now a reality.
My observations started at a seminar I attended in Northern California in 2006. A mother told the story of her little 5-year-old daughter who was getting bullied by both other students and her teacher. They said that she was not pretty. The little girl stood up to them and told them that her mother thinks she is pretty and that’s all that mattered to her.
I applauded both her and her mother for having good family values. Their shared determination developed a strong family foundation. They were prepared for the outside influences. They were both heroes in my eyes. Families’ do matter.
My observation turned into a dream when I had a girlfriend who had two little girls 5 and 7 years old. I was an outsider, but I wanted to connect with them. I especially wanted to be in harmony with their mother’s teachings. I remembered a few of the tools, that I developed over 35 years ago when, I baby sat my niece and two nephews to better connect with them. I called them “Loving Discipline. At that time, I only had a handful of these special activities, techniques or tools.
A great joy came when they actually worked. They worked not only with my blood relatives but other kids in addition to my girlfriend’s children.
Next, I went from dreaming to ideas. My first idea was to make a type of ”parenting” cookbook. Let’s face it all parents are busy and sometimes frazzled. Often times they lose it because they use methods that are from a parents’ point of view. Screaming and surrender seemed to be used by all.
This was when my parenting ideas began to blossom. They helped parents have better control and to do it without harsh criticism, forceful discipline or loud screaming. I decided to not try to take on all ages. My focus was for kids ages 4 until 10. They were old enough to understand and young enough to be malleable. I could build a solid foundation that they could better face the World outside of the family.

I tested some of my parenting ideas on first graders in three different classes where I was volunteering. The first two classes were at a Ben Carson magnet school in West Palm Beach. Both classes were overwhelmingly minority students. This is where the loving discipline worked its magic. I tried many different ideas while never forgetting to try and see things through their eyes. I chose to be childlike and not childish.
They quickly trusted me because I was fair and consistent. This worked well for over sixty, five-year-olds. Being a Libra, I strive to be both fair and balanced. Once they realized that that was the case, they followed directions for a greater number of ideas. A key also was to treat them as individuals, yet I could expect all the same results but maybe at different rates.
I moved to Naples Florida in 2018 and worked with a 100% different make up of children, location. The results were markedly the same. These activities-built their trust, acceptance and interest in one another both at home and in school.
I realized that I couldn’t make the kind of impact that I wanted by serving one class at a time. It was time to transition from a dream and idea to into a bigger reality. I began to write down my methods. It evolved into over 100 different ways to help children of single parents, two parents and same sex parents. The results were the same as long as the parents gave 100% to their efforts. The resulting foundations built upon what the parents wanted to create for their families and not be swayed by outside influences.
Then COVID struck. There were no more classrooms or volunteering. There was a positive aspect to this development though. I had the time to finish these methods into an easy to understand and fun book – “I Wasn’t Kidding, Now I Am.”
From this point onward, I knew, I needed professional help for different ways of marketing with the intent of reaching 10,000 families. I’ve spent all my time writing and editing. I spent considerable amount of personal funds to create and finish the book now comes the critical period for marketing and promotion.
I wondered who could, I enlist to help with the financial investment needed to reach the largest audience possible? Who would want to support this dream, develop this idea and be a part of this reality to help parents and their children? Those who loved children, those who had children and or grandchildren. Who believe that children really are our future? According to the 2022 Census there are over 28 million people who are my target audience. This fact is based on there being at least one child between the ages of 4 until 10.
If you like the thought of making a big impact on this future generation, believe the parents could use the help and a break. The time is now when it is most needed to join me with any donation from $5 to $100. My goal is to raise $6 to $8,000 for samples, marketing and promotion campaign to reach my goal. Join me. This could impact your relatives, your grandchildren, your friend’s children or even your workmates. They all will be glad you did.
