SUPPORT A FAMILY DAY OF HEALING
Currently, the world is still dealing with the pervasive impact of of COVID-19. The effects of COVID-19 have especially touched our children and families. Coupled with this is the unending attacks targeting Black and brown people and the increase of murders in our City of Philadelphia.
Informed by this need and in line with our vision, Creative Praxis, an art-based training organization wanted to create a day of healing that centers wellness, power, and restoration for children and families. In partnership with Allegheny West Foundation, Art Love, The Blues Babe Foundation, Duafe Holistic Hair Care, and The Ladipo Group What a Year: Family Day of Healing community event was formed. On June 26th at the Vincent G. Panati Recreation Center in North Philadelphia. Everyone is invited to partake in :
-Resources on low cost therapeutic and mental health services
-Art and healing activities
-Self-care tools
-De-escalation strategies for schools, families and community
-Self-care and art packages
-Heathy good food and snacks
-Great community-centered entertainment
We are calling on you and our entire community to help raise money to pay for the artists, community healers, facilitators, and therapeutic supplies. With your help we will be able to:
-Provide hundreds of self-care and art packages to children and families
-Provide mental health toolkits
-Pay for the time and expertise of master wellness practicers
We will need the funds by June 11th to give Creative Praxis, community volunteers, and partners time to package everything up. What ever you can give will go a long way to make sure are children and families have what they need for their mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. It would mean the world to us at Creative Praxis to see our community get what it needs to center our individual and collective healing.
