Family expenses for Dane Steenburgen

Hi, my name is Amanda Duncan. I am raising funds for my sister in laws son, Dane. He is in critical condition. Dane got sick last Friday. He continued getting worse each day.

Monday was took to the ER found out he had influenza A and they pumped 2 bags of fluid into him because he was very dehydrated. Wasn’t able to keep anything down medicine, food, fluid- he would just throw back up. He started passing out. High temp, coughing.

Then, Tuesday he continued passing out took him back to ER. Put more fluids into him. Double pneumonia. Oxygen was at 77. Put him on a ventilator and oxygen only got up to 88.

Tried transporting him to the university. Oxygen kept plummeting during transfer. Couldn’t transfer. Decided to do emergency lung bypass surgery.

Bypass worked. His oxygen is in 90s. This was 1:00 in the morning.

Oxygen is at 90 on full lung bypass. Lungs are completely full and cant absorb oxygen. They have been calling hospitals everywhere and transports for hours. No one wants to move him. Too critical.

Waiting until they find someone to transport. They were thinking maybe Oklahoma or Arkansas. They are trying to find a hospital that is compatible with lung bypass machine.

The bypass is the only thing keeping him alive right now. Transports are saying he's too high risk. They finally got a helicopter in route and transferred him to Barnes in St. Louis.

He has Influzena A/ Bacterial pnemonia /viral infection, his body has went septic and he is on dialysis.

Funds will be used for expenses for Danes family. Medical expenses, meals, hotel rooms or anything that the family might need while going through this critical time.
