Tribute to Elaine Luhn(Chenault)

Friday
night our lives were changed forever, our Mom, Elaine J. Luhn (Chenault) was called home by the Lord.It is with the heaviest of hearts that we inform you that after undergoing an emergency surgery to stop a lot of bleeding our mothers heart stopped. My sisters and I were given the opportunity to be by her bedside right before they took her to the O.R. Although she was not able to talk (again because of the ventilator being put back in),Her eyes were big…she nodded her head as she stated at each of us…..she squeezed our hands and we each were able to kiss her, tell her we love her and thanked her for everything she ever did for us as a mother. The closeness we had with her is something I could never explain. This was a woman with incredible strength. Being born into a poor family of 8, watching her mom get sick, seeing all her siblings and herself be Placed into foster homes but then reuniting as adults. She fought through life using her smile and laughter to cover her pain. She put everything she ever had into her three children. But She would go out of her way to help any stranger on the street, any single mom with kids, any alcoholic or drug addict who just needed to be felt like they mattered, she saw them as her equal and still tried to help. She would rarely let you leave her home without giving you something, anything. I don’t know how to live as a woman with no mom. I just know I will never be the same woman. There will never be someone to love me the way she did. Who would still let me crawl in her bed even as adults, Who helped us each raise our children. She gave her grandchildren memories that no child would ever forget. She deserved so much more than this Life gave her. I hope we still made you proud mommy. We never had much but my god……we always had each other. May you rest among the angels in heaven until we see you again Mom.
This is not an easy request by far, but a needed one-Please
