Family home fire damage.
Donation protected
In the early hours of Sunday 27th October my niece and her husbands house caught fire, asleep upstairs was my niece her husband and their 4 boys. The fire broke out and they were woken by the smoke alarms, however the fire had already taken hold. Fighting through the smoke and fear my nieces husband managed to get my neice and their 4 boys out onto the porch roof, unaware that that's actually where the fire had started. After jumping down and getting wheelie bins to the porch my nephew in law was able to get everyone to safety for which I am eternally grateful . Sadly the family lost their dog in the fire and a bird that belonged to 1 of the 4 boys, he lives with autism and his little bird was his best friend. The family home is no longer, and they are currently staying with family until investigations are complete. This story is sad enough, but a week previous their truck was stolen which contained my nephew in laws tools for work, so whilst trying to get together tools to continue working, this has happened. I can't begin to tell you how horrific this is, the thought that this story could be far far worse. But with the quick thinking, and genuine heroic efforts I am able to say that 6 members of my family are safe and well, it could have been such a different ending.
Since I started this GFM we've learnt that the house insurance had not auto renewed which it has done for the passed 10 years. This had added extra heartbreak to an already heartbreaking situation.
Everyone has been so supportive, strangers offering help, from clothes to cupcakes, kettles to cuddles, it's truly amazing how kind people can be, so on behalf of the family we thank you from the bottom.of our hearts
