FAMILY LEFT DEVASTATED AFTER HOUSE FIRE

Some of you may have heard about the house fire on Limekiln Row, Castlefields, last night? The explosions heard was from a lithium scooter battery, which they think is the cause of the fire.

Fortunately, Doris, Ste and Leon all got out and are being taken care of in hospital - where they are expected to be in for about a week. Their family dog Roxy, 10, has been taken to the vets and it isn't looking promising for her. They are heartbroken.

Unfortunately, Doris Curry, 67 (a care-worker) and Ste Currie, 69, (retired) didn't have house insurance. They are obviously devastated. They have lost their home and not a single item inside the house is salvageable - all they have is the pajamas on their back that they left the house in (not even a pair of shoes).

I feel so helpless and want to help them in anyway I can, they are like family to me. Doris and Ste have been like parents to me since I was 10! They are my best friends parent's. Anyone that knows them will know that they are the most caring people, and will help absolutely anyone.

I appreciate that times are tough for everyone at the minute, but if anyone would like to donate anything at all, it would help them massively to try and at least attempt to replace some of the essential things that they have lost. I am aware there are a lot of things that can't be replaced, but hopefully we can help them to relieve some of the financial burden.
