Family loses a lot in house fire.
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sabrina, and I'm hoping to help my mother-in-law and her family replace items that were damaged in the house fire yesterday (1/24/2024).
There are 5 people who had been currently living there. Terrie, my mother-in-law, Troy, her significant other, Doc (Troy as well but goes by Doc) 21 and son of Troy. Caden 13. And Taylor 12.
As of right now it doesn't seem to be considered as a total loss but we still don't know the extent of the damage. What we do know is that everything in their mud room and living room are destroyed. Terrie, my mother-in-law, was still working on laundry so a lot of it was in the living room.
The major things they need assistance with financially is replacing things that got damaged, possibly finding a new place to live if the house is too damaged, transportation (ie gas to get the kids to and from school since they are now staying farther away from school as well as Troy getting to and from work, and repairs to their car as it has issues that has a tendency to cause problems) and taking care of their pets. They have 4 cats and a dog.
The 4 cats might still be within the house as we had not been able to locate them after we were allowed to get some items for everyone.
I understand that finances are tight for almost everyone right now, but anything will help. Even if it is only $1.
Thank you and have a blessed day.
Update: I realized that I missed some information. The fire started in the attic and was an electrical fire, so any of their electronics that had been plugged in might be fried and damaged past repair.
Update: They do believe that the home owners insurance only covers the structure but not any on the contents of the home. So all the money will be going to replacing anything destroyed or damaged as well as anything else the family needs.
