Family Loses Everything for 2nd time in BC Fire
Donation protected
Update from Tracy and Randy August 26th: We are amazed by the outpouring of support from all of our friends, family and community; every single donation is so greatly appreciated.
Our family is still trying to wrap our heads around what has happened and are trying to get our ducks in a row to be able to move into a rental sooner rather than later. Our original goal was to be able to provide first month's rent and damage deposit so we could start to move forward. As we have started to realize the costs involved in dealing with our lot in Squilax and the costs to get into a rental and start over, we have increased our goal.
In addition to cleaning up and finding a place to live, we will need help getting our household set up (beds, dishes, furniture, buying clothes etc.) we have decided to relocate to Calgary, but will need to travel back and forth to BC several times as my (Tracy) eyesight continues to deteriorate and will need to keep my cataract surgeries in BC.
Again, we appreciate you all so much and would not have even been able to consider renting a place yet without your love and support.
~ Tracy , Randy and family.
August 20th:
There are already so many sad and devastating stories of families losing their homes and belongings in the BC wildfires and our hearts and thoughts are with them all. In all of this devastation, we are asking that you consider helping Tracy Richardson, her partner Randy Fairweather and their family who have lost everything in the Bush Creek East wildfire outside of Chase BC this past Friday. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this family has been devastated by fire, having lost their home once previously. Not only have they lost their home and belongings, but Tracy's place of employment has also been lost in this fire and she will have no job to return to in the coming weeks.
Not Insured:
After their last house fire, Tracy and Randy began the process of building an addition to their mobile home and were unable to get insurance coverage while under construction. Sadly this unexpected and tragic fire took their home before the construction could be completed and insured. As such we are fundraising to help get this family back on their feet.
