Family Loses Everything to House Fire Days Before Christmas
Donation protected
My sister-in-law and her husband, Ashley and Levi Held, came home Friday evening with their 9 and 7-year-old boys to find their home engulfed in flames. This is obviously any family's worst nightmare, but to happen just days before Christmas makes it so much worse when you have young children.
Unfortunately, the firemen were unable to save two of the family's dogs, their cat, and three ferrets. In addition to everything else, the family is grieving the loss of their pets. Although the boys are trying to be strong for their mom, they are hurting and, of course, very sad.
Some of you may know Ashley; she has been a bus driver at Summit Academy in Romulus for over 10 years. She drives most of the kiddos that live in the Monroe area back and forth to school. They are the type of family that would help anyone in need and have anytime the situation has arisen. Now, I am asking that we come together as a community and help out this family that has just lost everything in the blink of an eye.
I'm not sure what their insurance coverage is, but I do know that insurance companies are impossible to deal with. They will drag out this process forever and never fully replace what they have lost. Also, they need to live in the meantime and also provide Christmas for their children.
