Help for Family that Lost Home & Everything to House Fire

On 7/20/2024, my sister Tina, and nephew Micah, lost their home, their 4 beloved dogs, and everything they owned to a house fire. Tina and Micah were inside at the time, but thankfully made it out alive by crawling through the windows. Tina suffered burns that were treated at the hospital, and they both suffered smoke inhalation. Unfortunately, their home and everything they owned was a total loss. They are devastated at the loss of their home and the loss of their precious dogs more than anything, but they're very thankful and blessed that they are alive.

Among all the loss and devastation, a little miracle happened that eased some of the loss and grief. Long after the fire was put out, one of the firefighters found a pup and it turned out to be Petey, one of their little dogs! The fire chief posted a photo of him holding Petey on Facebook! They thought they had lost all 5 but somehow he made it out of the house, and the photo shows just how grateful he was to the Lafollette firefighters

They have a long road ahead of them being displaced from their home and having to start over from scratch, but their immediate needs are clothing, shoes, and basic necessities, as well as getting into a place to live. Unfortunately, they don’t have the means to rebuild their home but we’re hoping they can rebuild in the future or replace with a modular home. Then they will need to work on replacing household items, beds and other furniture, so if you’re local and can spare any clothing or household items, we will happily pick up. Anything you can spare will help, and we are very grateful for.

Tina wears women’s size 0 pants/shorts, small shirts, and size 7 1/2 to 8 shoes.

Micah wears men’s size 30/30 pants/shorts, medium shirts, and size 10 shoes.

We would like to thank everyone for all the prayers, messages of support, and kindness you’ve shown during this time, and we would also like to thank the Lafollette fire department firefighters for risking their life to battle the fire and for saving Petey!
