Family Medical Expenses Away From Home
Donation protected
Hello,
We are Ammon and Teri Burton. Ammon's great-great-great niece has human metapneumovirus and RSV. Her name is Rowena Huval and she is six months old. On Sunday, March 9, little Rowena was admitted to Northwest Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. On Tuesday, Rowena had to have a chest tube inserted due to a puncture in a lung. At that time they put little Rowena into a medically induced coma. She has since received a feeding tube. Today it was decided she needed to be transported to the Children's Hospital in Dallas, Texas. She was flown. Her parents, Greg and Lauren Huval and grandmother, Joanna Beck drove. It is unknown how long the family will need to stay in Dallas. They need help with lodging, meals and gas. No amount is too small and every amount is so very appreciated. This is a parent's worst nightmare. Having to worry about lodging and meals takes this nightmare to a whole new level. We are so grateful for your help and we pray that your generosity be returned to you tenfold.
Thursday, March 16. Little Rowena had extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) this morning. According to the Mayo Clinic: blood is pumped outside of your body to a heart-lung machine that removes carbon dioxide and sends oxygen-filled blood back to tissues in the body. Blood flows from the right side of the heart to the membrane oxygenator in the heart-lung machine, and then is rewarmed and sent back to the body.
The family is so grateful for any help, monetary or prayers. Thank you.
