Family of Brian Kelly

My Step-dad Brian had long been battling a fight against severe depression which eventually overwhelmed him. His family and friends have seen the suffering and pain he felt often, but this was only the ending chapter of his story. Brian was such an amazing man. When I was only around 5, my brother 4, and my sister just born, our biological father passed away. Brian stepped into the father role. He taught me everything from how to play football and how to love God. He had his hobbies, but only enjoyed them if we could enjoy it with him. He was the furthest thing in the world from selfish; everything he did was for his family and when his former best friend and brother stole hundreds of thousands from him (his whole life savings) he felt like he failed our family. He couldn't be more wrong even if he couldn't see it. 

We are raising money for the cost of his cremation/urn along with costs to help my mother who has been trying to make money by babysitting and helps support our sister, Christine, who currently in school. Even though he and my mother have lived together almost my whole life, they were never married. Because NJ doesn't have common law marriage and my sister is over 18, no one can get aid from his social security benefits and he was not able to leave any financial support behind. I (Drew Novy) will collect donations and have them brought to my mother through transfer or with the help of my brother Chris.
