Family of Former Coach and Teacher, Keith Brown

With a heavy heart, as the staff of Preston Middle School, we are creating this GoFundMe for Keith Brown's family. The raising of these funds is to help his family through this difficult time and funeral expenses as they say goodbye to a dedicated father, friend, and husband. Please donate any amount you can as we also honor his memory as a beloved coach, teacher, colleague, and friend.

Keith Brown started his teaching career twelve years ago as a student teacher at Preston Middle School, and then taught in the 6th grade Social Studies department for ten years. His enthusiasm and love for learning and students quickly made him an invaluable part of our Puma family. As he taught, he found another love of Education: coaching. Throughout his time at Preston he coached countless students in Boys and Girls basketball helping them to win multiple district championships, he was also an assistant track coach, and also coached cross country helping our Pumas win multiple district championships.

Although we could say endless positive things about Keith, his own words capture his heart best. On the Preston website, he describes himself on the staff page this way: "As far as my family, I have two awesome children. Adam is 16 and attends Fossil Ridge High School. My daughter Hannah is in her second year at Metro State in Denver. My wife Heather is a nurse and cares for us all. Educationally, I attended Colorado State University and earned a Business Finance Degree. After working in the finance field for almost 20 years, I decided to become a teacher and earned a B.A in history and a M.E. in Education from Regis University. I have served in my current 6th grade position at Preston and have enjoyed building relationships with students throughout the years. I look forward to future challenges that the education field will bring my way. I love Preston because it is a great school to be a part of, and the students are the best part. Through teaching and coaching, I have enjoyed building relationships and getting to know our students on a personal level. The Preston staff have become a wonderful teaching resource and many of them are some of my best friends. Personally, I love anything basketball and coach the 8th grade boys and girls teams. I love to compete and challenge myself to be the best teacher, coach, dad, husband, and overall person I can be."
