Family of Four Has Lost EVERYTHING
Donation protected
We are Olaf and Jennifer Thomason (not pictured) and we are starting this GoFundMe on behalf of our youngest daughter, Kelsea’s family of four. (3 pictured)
On the first of January, they were set and ready to embark on a new adventure - a new chapter in their lives. They had completely packed up their fully furnished 2 bedroom apartment, emptied their storage unit and played a very tedious game of “Tetris” fitting EVERYTHING THEY OWNED into a large twenty foot Uhaul truck at their apartment in Vancouver, WA. Once it was all squeezed into the truck, they settled in for a good night’s rest before their journey ahead. They woke up, however on the morning of January 2, 2023, to find only a bunch of broken glass where their loaded-to-move Uhaul had sat the night before.
They lost EVERYTHING. EVERY SINGLE childhood treasure, memento, and keepsake - lifetime souvenirs - remembrances of, from and made by lost loved ones. One lost family member’s cremated remains were among the items packed to leave the state with them.
Their two children are already settled in their lives in their new community with their mother and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their daddy, their bonus mom, their kitty “Skittles” and all of their belongings, including but not limited to …
ALL OF THEIR CHRISTMAS GIFTS.
The upcoming move had delayed their holiday together. There were unopened gifts not only from Kelsea and Gary for the kids but from us and family and loved ones in our neck of the woods, as well.
All GONE - EVERY SINGLE THING. They are understandably, so shaken and so devastated. We ALL are.
Kelsea, Gary and Skittles are currently staying with family and drawing on the love and support of those who love them most. Employment opportunities do await Gary, so they will not be able to wait in the area for news of their possessions for very much longer.
The police who took their report told them that IF the vehicle or any of their belongings are recovered it would likely be within 2-3 days of the theft and that the items of monetary value would not likely still be in the truck. That was four days ago. Kelsea and Gary have received no news from the authorities or Uhaul. We are using social media groups to try to track down information. Sadly, the information found up to this point is of no help in recovering any of the stolen property besides two children’s bicycles, one of which had been run over, an umbrella and a garbage can.
Kelsea and Gary are working to come to terms with the fact that it will only be by the grace of God that their irreplaceable belongings will be returned to them. It is here that we ask first and foremost for prayer, light, love and for positive thoughts and energy to be sent their way.
At this point, it is safe to say that their replaceable items have more than likely been either sold or have now blended into the belongings of the thief or thieves who committed this heinous act. It is here now, that as hard as it is to do so - we ask for prayers for the thieves that perpetrated this act. (No - SERIOUSLY … I cannot put into words, how hard it is to include that last sentence, as much as I know in my heart that it was necessary.)
One thing Kelsea and Gary are doing is working to gain the composure necessary to curate a comprehensive list of their lost belongings. Just think of what it would mean to have to sit down and try to make a list of and put a value to everything that you own in the wake of this kind of a violation. It is already looking as though the insurance is only likely to cover a fraction of the funds that it will take to get them back on their feet. So it is here then, that we are organizing this fundraiser for financial help on their behalves.
We are ever so grateful and we send our thanks and blessings in advance for your prayers, your well-wishes, your donations and for sharing this fundraiser to the farthest of your furthest reaches! We will keep you all posted with any information that we receive moving forward. And we will keep all of YOU in OUR prayers, as well.
