The Matt Walker Memorial Fund
Matt graced so many of our lives with the biggest smile, the best hugs, the most boisterous laughs, but most of all, his enormous heart. His love for his family was evident – his pride in his boys Kai and Cullen, his adoration for his wife Jamie, and his unwavering bond with his parents Rick and Cheryl, his sister Anna, and his in-laws Jim and Diane Holley defined the man he was.
He was fiercely loyal to his tight-knit group of friends, most of whom he had known since elementary school. Always the light and life of the party, Matt was a magnet with his infectious sense of humor. He would be the first to call to check on his buddies, the first to congratulate a momentous occasion, the first to step up if anyone needed anything. He was, ultimately, the kind of guy everybody wanted around.
There are no words to adequately sum up Matt’s life or what he meant to those who love him. We refuse to say “loved” as a past tense – the people who have known Matt will not let death endtheir love for him. It will always be there, accompanied by his big grin in our hearts and memories.
After the sudden and unexpected loss of Matt on July 21, many have reached out to ask how they can help or what they can do. Today we ask that anyone who wants to celebrate Matt’s life and has the means to support Jamie, Kai and Cullen, please donate whatever amount you feel comfortable. Your financial gift will help them get through this incredibly difficult time and cover expenses. If you are able, please show the same love and support to the Walker family that Matt showed his entire life to the people he cared about.
