Family of Matthew Freeman

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On Wednesday morning, February 1st, our friend Matthew Freeman sustained critical injuries at home in an accident on his roof. Matt’s two children sought help from their neighbor who alerted emergency services as well as informing their mom Jill. Matt was transferred to Broward Health North, in Deerfield Beach FL, where he continues to undergo trauma treatment. Matt is not yet awake and remains in critical condition, as Jill faces the daunting undertaking of holding together all the facets of a complicated life.

Matt is proud to be part of a large family of aviators, and in the twenty plus years of his career has had the privilege to be named amid the pilot groups at ExpressJet, NetJets, Spirit Airlines, and most recently in July 2022, UPS. Always eager to help someone in any way, Matt’s love of aviation and ability to talk to anyone established him as an integral part of Spirit Airlines’ training department, as well as a brief period as Director of Training with Amerijet. Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and kids skiing, RV trips, shooting and especially boating.

While we can never fully prepare for these situations, at this junction in Matt’s career his family finds themselves less prepared than most. With his immediate outcome uncertain, and road ahead lengthy, I ask for your generosity in thoughts and prayers towards Matt and his family, and if inclined and able, a donation to help ease the financial aspect of the overwhelming stress of this transition in the Freemans’ lives.
