Family of Sergeant Vazquez

On October 23rd, 2017, our beloved Sgt. Alexander Vazquez succumbed to his injuries.  When he passed, the men and women of the North Bergen Police Department lost a mentor, a friend, and a leader. Sgt. Vazquez's smile, gentle demeanor, and easy-going nature made friends wherever he went. He earned the respect of the officers under his command by leading through example, treating them as friends rather than subordinates, and always being willing to listen. He was adored equally by his peers as well as those that met him through the day to day grind of policing.  He was a wrestling champion, but a gentle giant that will be missed dearly.

 

Alex, husband to Natalie, was also a dedicated father of Kayla, age 11, Gabriel, age 4, Logan, age 2, and Alex, age 1.  With his passing, his brothers and sisters in the North Bergen Police Department and PBA Local 18 have started this page in memoriam to a friend. In an effort to establish a scholarship fund to support his children, we ask you to give what you can to ensure that his children may succeed as best they can despite the void left by the loss of Sgt. Vazquez.  Any and all proceeds collected here will be, and will continue to be distributed to four scholarship accounts so that Kayla, Gabriel, Logan, and Alex will know the continued love and support of the friends and family of our brother and friend Sgt. Alex Vazquez. Thank you, and may Sgt. Vazquez rest in eternal peace.
