Windsor Bowling Center needs your help please!
Windsor Bowling Center a small business located at 8801 Conde Lane in Windsor, California needs your help. Shut down 3 times in the past 4 years.
My name is Melodie Malnar, my sister Molly and brother in-law Jaime Pattison have owned and operated the Windsor Bowling Center since 2005. I am reaching out to friends, family, or anyone willing to help this establishment that is very dear to my heart. I have participated in and been an officer in many of their leagues, I have met wonderful friends through bowling. It is a great source of entertainment, exercise, teamwork, and fun.
Windsor Bowling Center offers so much to so many. Before the shut down they had adult, youth, and senior leagues available every day of the week. Becoming Independent uses the facility frequently to help people with special needs to allow needed engagement with their community. WBC hosts tournaments like Pepsi State Regional, Youth Bowling Tour, and local association tournaments which enable the youth bowlers an opportunity to earn scholarships.
An extensive remodel of the entire bowling center took place in 2013 and in 2016 a 6000sf expansion broke ground on the second story of the building. This increase in size allowed for a 9-hole black light mini golf, arcade, party room, and 2 escape rooms for the community to experience. In 2017, just before the Grand Opening was to take place the Tubbs Fire devastated Sonoma County. In 2019, the Kincade Fire was so close to the bowling center that a mandatory evacuation was ordered for the entire town of Windsor. WBC was just starting to come out from under the devastation and long term affects when as we all know COVID-19 hit. They have been shut down since March 17th other than a small 3-week window in late June early July. WBC has not been allowed to reopen due to reclassifications and reopening structure established for all of California. All these natural disasters and a pandemic have taken a toll on everyone including this family owed business.
With the Bowling Center closed, expenses still need to be maintained. At the beginning of March, the bowl had 31 employees and now are down to 20 furloughed employees. Some of who’s unemployment is expiring and may need help. Any donation will help pay for the following expenses: building lease payments (both back payments and current ones), utilities, employee support, costs associated with reopening and insurance premiums.
This has been humbling for the Pattison’s and as many of you know they are usually the ones that are giving, please consider donating!
Thank you!
