Help family scammed out of $5300 for fake rental

Hi Everyone, this is an unfortunate situation that has happened to my family. We are all so devastated. My mom the most since it has affected her mentally, emotionally and financially. It took her a very long time to save up this money and we were all set to move out of our current home since it’s not in the best living conditions on July 1st. We gave out notice to our current landlord already to move out because we found a new home to rent. Unfortunately the home was a scam as a fake real estate agent broke into the house, unlocked the door and then had showings. In which we sent in a rental application for the home and then got accepted as tenants. We gave first and last months rent as a deposit. We realized everything was fake when the real estate agent told us we had been scammed and didn’t give us the keys to the house, now my mother lost $5300. She works really hard as a cleaner for our family and supports her 5 children. We now have to find a home ASAP and have no more money for a down payment. We would be so appreciative of anyone who could help us in anyway, so we can find a home for our family and have the required rent. Please share this with your family and friends.
