Help the El Masawab Family Escape the Horrors of War in Gaza

Greetings, I'm Mahfoudh, an American in New York. I believe that standing against human rights violations, like the Israeli occupation in Palestine, is a matter of humanity, not nationality.

I’m currently raising funds for the El Masawabe family, who are suffering in Gaza. This cause is vital for providing humanitarian aid to those caught in conflict.

It’s time to break the silence about the Gaza blockade. Together, we can make a difference and support Palestinians through aid and advocacy.

The El Masawabe Family's Story

Here is a first-hand account from Marah El Masawabe:

We are a Palestinian family, my father has passed away, residing in the Gaza Strip, I’m left with my mother now. My mother’s name is Awatef Mohamed Ibrahim, born in 1958, and I’m Marah Mustafa Mohamed, born in 1999.

As a result of a long journey of displacement in several places, we ended up in a small, simple tent on the street, lacking safety. Our bodies cannot endure the cold or heat, and there is no place for basic needs, especially since my mother is elderly, 65 years old, and suffers from chronic illnesses (blood pressure and heart disease). Gaza lacks many of the necessary treatments that should be available for her. The war has prevented me from achieving my goals, and we lost all our sources of income, our home, land, education, and work.

We have suffered great losses, including the destruction of our home by occupation forces using incendiary shells. Now, our once-thriving farm, which was a vital source of livelihood, is completely destroyed, leaving only remnants in the aftermath of the devastation.

Your support can make a difference

Donations will cover the following:

1- Rafah Crossing fees: $5,000 to $8,000 per person over the age of 16, as determined by Egyptian authorities, as it is currently the only exit point from Gaza.

2- Accommodation and living costs: $1,000.

3- Urgent medical treatment fees for Marah’s mother in the hospital: $800

Update: Marah and her family have been evacuated from Rafah camp and are now living in a tent in Khan Younis camp. They have been displaced from their home for 11 and a half months, and their situation is difficult as they have no electricity and face challenges accessing water for daily use.

Note: Despite the current situation at Rafah Crossing and its closure, we prioritize continuing to raise funds, so when it reopens, they won't face financial difficulties and can leave quickly and easily.

نتیجة لرحلة نزوح طویلة في عدة أماكن انتھى بنا المطاف في خیمة صغیرة بسیطة في الشارع، تفتقر للأمان، أجسادنا لا تتحمل بردھا أو حرھا، ولا یوجد مكان للاحتیاجات الأساسیة، خاصة وأن والدتي مسنة تبلغ من العمر 65 عامًا، وتعاني من أمراض مزمنة )ضغط وقلب(، وتفتقر غزة إلى العدید من العلاجات الضروریة التي یجب توفیرھا لھا. الحرب منعتني من تحقیق ھدفي وخسرنا كل مصادر دخلنا، المنزل، الأرض، التعلیم والعمل.

لقد تكبدنا خسائر كبیرة، بما في ذلك تدمیر منزلنا من قبل قوات الاحتلال باستخدام القذائف الحارقة. والآن أصبحت مزرعتنا المزدھرة، والتي كانت مصدرًا حیویًا لكسب الرزق، مدمرة بالكامل، ولم یبق منھا سوى بقایا في أعقاب الدمار.
