Family Threatened by Shameful Vandalism

We became aware of the racist vandalism on our car, Friday 12/29/23, when neighbors notified the police our car had been vandalized. I (mom) was out running errands. I got a call from my son with the Police at the door who stated he was a Sergeant and informed my son that the car had been vandalized. I immediately returned home and arrived with three policeman and 2 police cars at our apartment and went ahead and filed a police report. We are a Family of 3, with our young 12 year old son. We have been living in this home for the past 20 years, we are not new Residents. Our neighborhood in general does experience some vandalism, we have been targeted in the past. For example, we have had our car towed, tires slashed, car set on fire and now this. Having a racial slur spray painted on the family vehicle is shameful, embarrassing, and difficult to explain to my child. We also, no longer feel safe. It would be so wonderful to have the community support us through this difficult time, and help us move and recreate the peace our household once had.
