Family who collected food for charity need help after fire

We are reaching out on behalf of Katy and her incredible son, Ronnie, who have recently faced unimaginable hardship. After spending eleven months in a hostel after their previous landlord sold up, Katy and Ronnie finally moved into a new flat, hopeful for a fresh start. Tragically, just as they began to settle, a devastating fire broke out in the middle of the night. Luckily, they both escaped unharmed.

Ronnie, now 16, has always had a heart full of compassion and generosity. When he was just eight years old, he was so moved by a documentary about food banks that he decided to take action. With the help of his mum, Katy, he started a Facebook event called 'Donate A Tin For The Ronster.' Ronnie's initiative led to the collection of over 2000 tins of food for their local food bank in Gosport and Fareham. He even asked for cans of food instead of presents for his birthday, showing a selflessness that touched many hearts.

Now, in their time of need, it’s our turn to help them. The fire has destroyed their home and most of their belongings. Katy and Ronnie need urgent assistance to get back on their feet. Funds raised will go towards essential items such as clothing, furniture, and household goods, as well as help them repair the damage caused to their new home.

Katy, a dedicated bookshop assistant, has always been there for her son and her community. She has raised Ronnie to be kind-hearted and aware of the struggles others face. Let’s come together to support them as they have supported so many others in the past.
