Kendrick Family- Echo Mountain Fire Survivors
Spende geschützt
The Kendrick family are victims of the Echo Mountain fire that devastated Otis, Or. In a blink of an eye they have lost everything and need your support to rebuild. This blended family of six has come together and overcome so much already. The Kendrick’s have four children ages, 7, 8, 9, and 11 as well as two dogs. Unfortunately, they are renters who did not have renters insurance and are struggling just to provide the bare minimum for their children.
The road to this point has not been easy for this young family. Countless hours of blood, sweat, and tears have been shed to make their children a home after the two families came together four years ago and combated addiction. Today the Kendrick’s celebrate almost five years of sobriety and look forward to many more.
Calgary (Cal) has turned his life in a complete circle in order to be the best he can for his children and our community. Cal is a Wildland Firefighter who thankfully was not out on a fire call himself when his family was forced to flee their home. All of his firegear and commercial fishing equipment was lost rendering him unable to return to work without acquiring new expensive gear.
Bree has worked hard to provide for her children and will now have to shift her work to a new area while they seek shelter. As a vacation rental house cleaner Bree has less work due to decreased tourism. Their family had already taken a substantial income hit due to Covid-19, and coupled with the new expenses they are faced with this could mean complete devastation for them.
Everyone got out safely with just a small backpack and the clothes on their backs.
Currently they have received some donations for immediate needs such as food, hygiene products, and clothing. While they are ever so grateful for this immediate support, the focus is now on stability for the children, finding a new home, and rebuilding their lives with a focus on sobriety and structure. This fund is to help support things like deposits, application fees, furniture, replacing their children’s belongings… While the Kendrick’s have been an independent family who prefer to make their own way in the world, they are not too proud to know when help is needed and are relying on their community for support both monetarily as well as in the form of prayers.
Please consider donating, sharing, and praying for this family. Thank you!
