Family Fatally Devastated By Covid
Donation protected
No words can describe the heartbreak and tragedy our family is facing during this horrible pandemic which has infected my entire family. Covid has taken the life of my mother, Maria Sanchez and hospitalized my sister Brenda, who is receiving Intensive Care at Community Medical Center in Fresno. My father, Ramiro, brother, Hugo, and sister, Nuvia, are quarantined and also fighting the virus, unable to provide for their households and separated from their children.
During this time of grief and uncertainty, our struggles are increasingly difficult— we have been hit with funeral expenses, medical bills, and three mortgages that need to be paid. All I can do is ask for your support and prayers to help my family.
My mother was a true angel and the soul of our family. She touched the lives of so many people and her passing has left an immense void. She suffered from a very rare auto-immune disorder, Wegner’s Granulomatosis, which caused her kidneys to completely fail at the young age of 38. After almost 10 years of intense dialysis, she finally got a kidney transplant, but suffered two near death complications which caused the loss of her large intestine and, later on, most of her small intestine.
Despite all her health issues, my mother always had a smile on her face. She always helped others, even if it meant the shirt off her back. She didn’t allow her medical condition to keep her from doing the things she loved to do—cooking and baking for her grandchildren. She was the most affectionate and caring person; she lived to bring happiness to those around her.
A memorial will be held for my mother, but it must be postponed until my family is recovered. We will post details when that time comes.
Thank you to all of our friends and family who have reached out, made donations, dropped off food and supplies, sent flowers—your support means everything to us.
