Family’s plight for security through housing

Hi

my name is Bo-Anne and I am the single mother of 3 children one of which has a serious medical condition.

As I write this now,

I am utterly and completely exhausted, sad, confused and on the verge of a mental health breakdown.

Harrison was born with bilateral, dysplastic kidneys and under went a living donor transplant at 20mths old. He is now 9 and has continued to have chronic health issues for the last few years that is limiting his ability to be at school with his friends and also my time to be able to work and provide for my family adequately.

I am Harrison’s primary care giver whilst also attempting to work, study and run a small business from home.

unfortunately due to our rent being of such a large amount and the frequency of which Harrison is in hospital we are struggling to survive.

We currently pull together by living off food boxes donated from our church in byford and also frequent food bank when we need.

The purpose of this page is to ask for a group effort help to potentially get us into our own home to alleviate the financial pressure.

Donations of any amount, where possible of course will help us as a family move towards a goal that will take the financial stress and future insecurities from both myself and my childrens lives. But every little bit counts and many hands can help with small donations also. 

currently I work 25 hours a week as a disability support worker and when I am not studying the other days are usually spent at the hospital with my sons plasma treatments or surgery’s.

My daughters are left to raise themselves most days as the hospital is an hour away and can be a long day or sometimes over night stays.

we would like you to follow our journey on tiktok and help our family be able to reunite and be together through this difficult medical life journey for Harrison.

We have walked this road for 9yrs now and have done our best without asking for help. But now I can no longer do it on my own. 

And yes, I have gone to Centrelink to assist us and there help barely covers the rent with $200 a week left for petrol, food & utilises. 

It most definitely doesn’t cover living for very long unfortunately
