Fan Dance Race In Memory Of Grandad Parr
On October 12th, 2024, we tragically lost our Grandad to a sudden heart attack. His passing has left a huge void in our family, and we want to honour his memory in a way that could help others.
To raise money for the British Heart Foundation, Me and my brother Hamish are taking part in the Fan Dance Race. A gruelling 15 miles SAS Selection test march carrying a 16kg rucksack in a time of 4 hours staged over Pen y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons. The infamous march is the world’s oldest Special Forces test and is used as the first major indicator of whether a candidate has the physical and mental aptitude to complete the legendary Selection course.
An intense and challenging event that will push us to our limits. But we’re doing it because we know that heart disease affects so many people, and by taking on this challenge, we hope to make a difference and help prevent others from going through what we’re facing now.
We’re asking for your support in helping us reach our fundraising goal. Every penny donated will go directly to the British Heart Foundation, and your contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a real difference.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and for helping us honour Grandad’s memory in a way that we hope will save lives in the future.
