Fare Thee Well to Mark & Terri Fisher!

After 15 significant years in Austin, Mark and Terri Fisher soon begin the next stage of their journey in Colorado Springs. I set up this GoFundMe for those of us who have been supported and encouraged by these dear friends over the years, to have the opportunity to contribute to their transition and bless them on their way!

Mark and Terri plan to kick off their transition with a long awaited trip to England (to embark on an “Anglican pilgrimage” of sorts) followed by a visit to the West Coast. Immediately afterwards, they will relocate to Colorado, where they hope (in Terri’s own words) , “to live life more fully, to better serve the body of Christ (in whatever way He makes known to us), and to revel in the beauty of the natural world God has created and continues to create around us.”

Many of us at Christ Church of Austin have been blessed by the Fishers’ generous, creative, and loving service over the years including Terri’s pastoral care and preaching as a Deacon, leading and serving as Christ Church’s Arts Pastor, and teaching and mentoring Mothers of Little Ones. Together, Mark and Terri shepherded others in Small Groups and the Marriage Preparation Ministry, and we’ve all been blessed by Mark’s faithful, behind-the-scenes service on Altar Guild, drumming with the worship team or managing A/V for Sunday worship.

Others in Austin have crossed paths with Mark or Terri in other work, community or arts contexts, where they’ve been known as an empathetic co-worker, a caring supervisor, a spiritual director, a teacher of children, a fellow musician, or a helpful neighbor. Given their decades of investment in relationships, you may be connected to the Fishers through other communities – past and present – in Texas or California.

Whatever your connection to this beautiful couple, I invite all my fellow “friends and fans” of Mark and Terri Fisher to consider giving this “love gift” to express our collective gratitude and affection, and bless their launch into their next stage.
