Farewell and Celebrate Lakeiya Johnson

10 weeks after we said good bye to our big sister Shontaine Roma-Johnson we unexpectedly and suddenly now say our farewells to the Baby sister Lakeiya Roberta Maud Johnson.

Lakeiya (Lakey) Roberta Maud Johnson, a proud Weidi (Birri Gubba), Butjala, Kangolou, Pitta Pitta, daughter, sister, partner and aunty passed to the Dreaming on 28 February 2023.

Lakey was the little Shonny, so while we are all shattered by this loss, it's no surprise our baby sister left us with a broken heart.

Like her sister before her, Lakey was to the younger ones an Aunty-mother to all her nephews and nieces, always a safe space to turn she filled each of her Lil people with love and in return she was loved hard by all, but none more than her childhood sidekick, sister Ruthie and long term partner Bradley.

This fundraiser aims to ease the burden unexpectedly upon the family, especially siblings Bowman and Ruthie girl as they mourn their baby sister while still accepting, processing and learning to live with the loss of their big sister Shonny.

We don't know how much we still require to pull off yet another funeral but this will start to ease that burden. So we ask for your help to deliver our babygirl, Lakeiya's funeral and memorial and help us celebrate her beautiful life.

As the sister-cousin between Shontaine and Bowman I have set this campaign up to support my baby brother and sisters, and have done so on their request and behalf. All funds are directly deposited to Bowman for the cost of the funeral.
