Farley-Cowdin Family Fund

Hi! My name is Dennea’ Marks and I set up this page to help my sister, Kelsy, and her husband, Sean, support their brand new baby boy, Robert “Reggie” Farley-Cowdin.

Reggie was born 5 weeks premature on April 2nd, 2023, weighing just 4lbs and 10oz. Due to underdeveloped lungs and needing assistance to breathe, he was airlifted from the Mayo Clinic in Mankato, MN to St. Mary’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Rochester, MN at just a few hours old. Reggie will remain in the NICU until he is no longer in need of respiratory support. Due to the many unknowns and financial factors that come with a NICU stay, I would be so grateful if we could provide them even a fraction of support needed to get through this difficult time.

Kelsy and Sean are two of the most selfless people I know. Kelsy is a Children’s Mental Health Therapist and provides therapy to children in schools. Sean works for the American Red Cross as a Disaster Program Manager, as well as is in the Army National Guard. Sean was away at military training for the month of March while Kelsy was 8 months pregnant and had just returned Saturday, April 1st when Kelsy’s water broke at 1:00am on Sunday, April 2nd - not even 12 hours after he had gotten home. This unexpected turn of events became even more stressful after Reggie was born and immediately taken to the specialty care nursery. After it was determined the nursery team in Mankato would be unable to effectively provide the care he needed, Reggie was intubated and flown via helicopter to Rochester to recieve care in their NICU. Sean was able to drive to Rochester and is currently staying with Reggie, while Kelsy is still in the hospital due to complications after delivery; she will hopefully be able to join them in the next day or two.

Funds raised will go towards helping Kelsy and Sean with the financial costs of staying with their son while he recieves care in Rochester in the form of lodging, meals, gas, etc. They will also be used for any medical expenses Reggie accrues and help provide some stability to their family during this time filled with so many unknown circumstances.
