Farm Bird Sanctuary Vet Fund

Hello, we are Quincy Markowitz and Todd Wilson and we run Farm Bird Sanctuary - a vegan sanctuary that is currently home to chickens, turkeys, and quails.

Fifteen of our 62 birds are disabled. This includes blind birds, birds with neurological issues as well as quite a few amputees. As bird lovers that have been doing this work for over ten years, we find our calling is helping those who need us the most. We have the time, knowledge, and love to help these birds. What we need help with is the money part!

Even our able-bodied chickens require regular vet care and some require preventative medications. We have had a string of health concerns in the last month alone- losing our Ember and Tank to heart disease as well as currently caring for Kumar who is on hospice care after a cancer diagnosis.

We take everyone to the vet- this means we have high bills even for those who we can’t save- because we have to try.

Donations have dropped drastically for us at a time when we need them the most- caring for aging birds while also providing them a high quality life. Our tax exempt status was revoked after what we assumed was a simple error that was easy to fix is also proving to be a long and drawn out process but one we expect to be over in the near future as we get reinstated.

Every single dollar we bring in will go directly to our vet, chicken feed, and pine shavings for the birds’ enclosures.
