FARMERETTE documentary film

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Colin Field and I am a filmmaker working with Bonnie Sitter to make a documentary about Ontario Farmerettes - teenage girls who supported the war effort in WW2 by working on farms across Southern Ontario.

In 2023 I received a $5000 grant from the London Arts Council through the City of London Community Arts Investment Program. This grant has allowed work to begin interviewing former Farmerettes (most of whom are now in their 90’s). To date we have also received $6400 in generous corporate sponsorships and private donations outside of GoFundMe.

This additional funding request through GoFundMe is to allow us to complete production, post-production, marketing and distribution. Our goal is to complete the project by the summer of 2024.

We also continue to apply for grants from Heritage and Arts Foundations and, if successful, our GoFundMe goal will be lowered accordingly.

Thank you in advance for any support you are able to provide to preserve these important Farmerette stories, and to share them with a broad audience!
