Help Bring FarmerJawn Agriculture Vision to Life!

Shot by: People We Know,  A production company based in Philadelphia.

FarmerJawn has seen its share of ups and downs in a very short time. After losing all our crops and ultimately leaving the previous farm due to an irresponsible landlord at the height of the pandemic in 2020 into early 2021, Christa and her team are headed back to Elkins Park, PA (1 minute from Philadelphia) with positive vibes only and a master plan and a real chance to impact food insecurity and create space for community. The beautiful Elkins Estate (1760 Ashbourne Rd, 19027) is ready to welcome us with open arms and we need to ensure proper funding of this project.

FarmerJawn Agriculture has an amazing opportunity to expand our enterprise to 3+ acres of land, 2 greenhouses, garage, historic springhouse and residence all of which need a lot of renovation and is just a minute outside of Philadelphia. This location is accessible to the public by all forms of transit. This will also be the permanent home of our new non-profit, "FarmerJawn and Friends Foundation Fund" This fund will serve as an educational platform for organic urban agriculture, with plans to host our first conference in Fall/Winter 2022. The non-profit will choose 2 farmers each season to be apart of our farmer-in-residence program having the amazing opportunity to learn how to run an urban agriculture enterprise while fulfilling a CSA program and community needs for food, production of value-added products, chef/restaurant provisions, cultivating an internship/volunteer program and conducting agricultural research.

FarmerJawn is to create a beautiful and functional farm the community can be proud of.

We are under the guidance of the Rodale Institute who are the world-renowned pioneers of organic farming. With your help and that of our community and network, FarmerJawn is and will continue to be 100% Organically Dope and be instrumental in being the change we need to see for the health and environmental problems in our community.

In order to make this bring these plans to fruition, it will take a valiant effort to see the project through with massive progress by Summer 2022. We do plan on hosting events on the property this Fall/Winter to build awareness and assist with beautification and cleanup. The first phase of donations will be used to finalize designs of the land, purchase materials, hire contractors, begin construction, cleanup, and hire and train staff. We need to raise at least $50,000 before Hard Frost so we can have time to prep the space for a Spring 2022 soft opening.
