Faroe Islands Podcast: 13th Time Is the Charm!

For 13 years, the Faroe Islands Podcast has documented life, culture, and history in the Faroe Islands. We've made more than 350 episodes, recorded stories on 15 islands, talked to musicians, politicians, actors, doctors, farmers, scientists, sailors, and--just once--a chicken. We've picked up a few awards along the way, and once an older woman standing in her garden in a remote village said the podcast was "a national treasure."

Now we're headed back to the islands to record more episodes of the podcast, and we need your help. It may not surprise you to learn that a non-commercial, niche podcast about a country that's home to just over 50,000 people isn't exactly a cash machine. It's made possible by people donating time, talents, and money to make it happen. Visit Faroe Islands and Atlantic Airways have generously donated airfare. The people of the Faroe Islands are stepping up and generously donating their couches, guest rooms, and in one case, a spot under a stairwell for lodging for most nights. This gofundme is to help defray the other costs of gathering more stories: transportation, lodging for a short portion of the trip, and food. This is how we keep the show revenue-neutral and sustain ourselves for another year.
