Fat Dan Weebles his way round the GNR

For the last 7 years a local lad called Mark Baxter has been raising money for, so far 7 different local charities. Each year he has pledged to raise £10,000 for each of them. This year is no different and he has chosen the Dragonfly Trust which supports young people who have been diagnosed with cancer of which is there is no cure. The money that is raised is to allow these young people to enjoy what little time they have. Anything from a meal with friends or a day out with their family.

I have decided to run the 2022 GNR to join the local people supporting local cancer charities. Cancer affects 1 in 5 of us and this is something I have personal experience of. Both my own and my wife’s father died at young ages from cancer and both accessed local support in their time of need. Without people like Mark putting himself out there raising funds, local charities would find it incredibly difficult to provide this much needed support.
