Father and Sole Provider Lost To Fire
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that we start this fund to help Rumi and her twin 9-year-old boys cope after the sudden and devastating loss of their beloved husband and father. Storm died tragically after the apartment he shared with his wife and sons caught fire. He died that night at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
Storm was a beloved husband and a very involved father. His love for his sons was undeniable and will be irreplaceable. He will be remembered for his passion, sense of humor, and kind heart. From Rumi; "He was the kindest person I have ever met in my life. He always cared for others before himself."
As the sole income provider for the family, this loss will be even more difficult. Storm worked in IT and was also developing a card game, called Crush, which he was very excited about. Developed by Storm and the boys, the game was nearly finished. https://crushgamesinc.com
Rumi has not had a job in 8 years and will need time and funds to help her find a job to support herself and the boys. They will also need to move apartments and will need to buy new furniture and clothes, as much was lost or damaged in the fire. We also hope to help the family pay for counseling/therapy to cope with this unimaginable loss.
Rumi and the boys were in Japan at the time visiting friends and family. We are so fortunate that they are safe. The boys want to continue their life back in Brooklyn and finish elementary school at P.S. 107.
The boys are fantastic piano players and hope to continue lessons. They are also excellent students and excel at everything they do. We hope to give them everything they need to achieve their full potential.
We thank you for your love and support of Rumi and the boys during this most difficult hour of their lives.
