Father & Husband loses his battle to depression.
Today, our family had to face a horrible event.
As some of you may know, a few months back, there was a mass shooting in San Jose at the VTA Lightrail Yard, where Henry Gonzales worked as a proud and loyal ATU Local 265 Union Brother. Multiple VTA workers lost their lives. Henry was there near the shooter, and by miracle, he survived.
Unfortunately, this tragic event caused Henry to go into a deep depression and battle PTSD. Today was his first day back at the VTA Yard, where sadly, he took his own life.
The feeling is indescribable! It deeply saddens us to know, Henry suffered silently with PTSD, depression and felt he could no longer bare the pain. I only wish that we could all have a bit of compassion for those who silently suffer from depression.
Henry leaves behind, his wife and their four children. The family is now coping with the loss of a father, a brother, a life companion, a friend, a union worker, a responsible member of society, and a good, kind-hearted human being.
I started this go-fund-me account in hopes to gather some financial support towards Henry’s family, who is now dealing with his sudden loss.
Would you please keep us in your prayers?
