Family Crisis
Friends and family it is with great heartache that I am asking you for your financial help. My father, Vasile Rusu who is 57 years old was recently diagnosed with stage four Colon Cancer that has metastasize to his liver. He has multiple tumors on his liver. Friday, May 4 he underwent a Hemaicolectomy (removal of some of the cancerous colon) with a colostomy bag placement. He will have to have the colostomy bag for 4-6 months considering he does well on chemo. He will start chemo therapy as soon as he is discharged from the surgical floor. He has lost about 20 pounds and is extremely weak.
About Vasile Rusu
My father has never been one to ask for help. For ex. while the kids were visiting other siblings we find out recently his water heater broke and he had been showering with cold water as "he was going to fix it himself but was in pain." Any extra money he made went to "helping the poor" stating he had "more than enough and is incredibly blessed here in America." His living conditions state otherwise! His house is in shambles the roof needs repairs, the ceiling is caving in, floors are warped, the foundation has shifted leaving cracks in the walls, the bathrooms and the kitchen are in poor condition. My siblings and I have contributed to have the water heater and AC replaced and not because he has asked us to.
Anytime anyone comes to visit they were happily welcomed with the feast of barbecue. Daddy loves to host and he did not let you leave until you had a plate. If you refused you would otherwise have to deal with him giving you bags of fresh chicken eggs, fruit, or honey. Regardless, you never left his house empty-handed. Giving what little he has makes him happy.
Fundraising goal
Vasile Rusu is the sole breadwinner working as a welder currently sporting four of my fifteen siblings who are still living at home, my mom, a dog, two cats and 25 chickens. He is also occasionally supporting a sister with food and housing while she is in college. He will not be able to continue working during his chemo treatment as this will cause him weakness and pain. Our goal is to keep the family together as long as possible before we have to sell the house and split the family among siblings. Your contribution will go towards monthly bills such as water, electric, food and transportation to and from chemo treatments. May God Bless you richly for your assistance in our family crisis!
