Father of my kids got murdered need help

My husband who also is a father and a son common law marriage from mid 2000s whom I share 2 kids with 13 and 15 fixing to be 16, tragically got gunned down and shot 4 times on the 27th , while helping protecting someone from beating a older gentleman in a wheelchair. I would love to get the kids out of state of Colorado because Pueblo has become to dangerous and scary. It happened in broad daylight. Believe they will be having his funeral in Texas. Kids and I desperately want to attend. He did not deserve to go out rooms away and miss his kids finish growing up. Gun violence never should be so open grieving everyday.
Update thanks so much. Sadly the day service is coming up in October. Been hard for the kids. Curtis had to celebrate first birthday without his dad. Can't go outside a whole lot for risk of it occuring again. Very unfair for them to have to deal with this and school but they are doing their best.
