Father suffering from Lou Gherigs (ALS)

Greetings Everyone,
I'm Robert, a devoted husband to Kimberly and a proud father of two wonderful daughters. Just a couple of years ago, I was an athletic powerhouse, playing full-court basketball with individuals half my age. However, my life took an unexpected turn during a lunch where I choked on a piece of salad, and my voice began to intermittently tremble.
A neurologist conducted tests ruling out stroke or obstruction but suggested the ominous possibility of Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS) or a similar condition. Despite my initial denial, the harsh reality unfolded—gradual nerve degradation, muscle atrophy, hyper metabolism, dystarthia, loss of speech, the necessity for a peg tube, confinement to a wheelchair, and ultimately, a premature death.
Refusing to succumb to despair, I embraced love, willpower, a meticulous diet, exercise, countless prayers, and clean living, vowing to overcome this daunting challenge. Unfortunately, over the past two years, I've experienced muscle atrophy, weight loss, nerve loss on my left side, resulting in a noticeable limp, and exhaustion from simply standing or holding up my head.
With speech and swallowing difficulties hindering my ability to consume regular food and intermittent nighttime breathing struggles, I've had to leave work and rely on disability. Now, we are reaching out for support to fund newly approved ALS medicines, essential equipment, and the myriad costs associated with battling this relentless disease. Your contribution can make a significant impact on my journey towards healing and defying the odds.
Warm Regards
Robert Kraft
