Fatima Castaneda

At 2:15 A.M. this Saturday, December 30 the world lost an incredible person. Fatima Castaneda had just turned 20 years old. We’re all mourning the loss of an incredible daughter, sister, and friend, not just to those who knew her but to the entire Bluffton community.

               Those who knew her could tell you how her smile lit up the room, the way that her infectious laughter could bring even the grumpiest person joy. Whether it was her devotion to her family or the pride she took in her work, no one can deny the achievements she made.

 

Having been a friend to all during her time at Olive Garden, she managed to maintain a fun working atmosphere with her infectious charm while still being one of the hardest-working people you’d ever meet. Earlier this year she became an assistant manager at Spirit Halloween where her love and passion for Gothic Culture and all things Halloween permeated the workplace. She made friends both in and out of work and her infectious attitude and knowledge helped those coworkers and customers alike. Even up until recently becoming a server at Stir Crazy, Fatima was always keeping busy and showing the Bluffton community what she had to offer.

   In this time of mourning for all of us, our heart goes out to the entire Castaneda family. The goal of this GoFundMe campaign is to help raise money to alleviate the financial burden on her already grieving loved ones and give Fatima the proper sendoff she deserves. All proceeds from this campaign will go directly towards Fatima’s service and her family, and hopefully, help to bring us all a form of closure and a place to grieve her tragic passing.
