Fattys Football Fundraiser

Hi, my name is Jessica Nicholas and I would like to create a special football celebration to honour my dearest dad.

He was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2020 following a stroke, multiple seizures and a very scary trip to hospital. After having scan they broke the news which changed all of our lives forever. The brain tumour was aggressive and meant dad was then facing terminal cancer. We were given 2 years which unfortunately turned out to be just shy of 1 year with my dad. He fought with honour, bravery and the most admiral determination. Even throughout his treatment he would talk about what he would do for OTHERS once he beat the cancer.. from volunteering for “daft as a brush” charity which transports cancer patients to and from hospital for treatments/scans etc. He was studying hypnotherapy when he was diagnosed and swore to help those who go through the same disease or any form of mental health/PTSD to help others overcome the trauma they’ve experienced.. as a good cause rather than wanting anything in return. This was my dad. He was selfless to the end.

In honour of his life and to keep his memory alive whilst raising awareness.. my family and I would like to celebrate his life by organising a gathering.. a friendly footy game to help raise money which will go towards his chosen charities. Macmillan, Daft As A Brush and St Benedict’s Hospice, all of which he received incredible support and care, and made a huge difference towards the end. For us all.

The aim is for an enjoyable football match, a BBQ and afterwards, a few drinks in the bar where there will be raffles, karaoke and whatever else we can come up with.. but most of all.. fun. Because that’s what dad was all about.
