Fawn Fights AML

My Sister-In-Law Fawn is the most genuine, kind, loving, and soft-spirited woman I’ve ever known. She’s the type of woman you just want to sit with and be in her “presence” because you feel better for being around her and knowing her. The most common Hebrew term for “presence” is panim, which also translates to “face,” implying a close or personal encounter with the Lord. I think it’s fitting that the first time I ever heard God’s voice and felt his presence was because of Fawn. She’s beautiful, talented, smart, loving, and so many amazing qualities that are the best of what we see in this World, but it was her consistent gentle spirit, her faith, and her “presence” that drew me to her the most and changed my life forever. God knew I needed her. Now she needs me and all those that know and love her or hear her story.
Early this month, Fawn and her family received some serious news, she is battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia. What started as a simple trip to the hospital for what appeared to be a very stubborn case of tonsilitis turned into something bigger than anyone could have imagined. Blood tests showed that her white blood cell count was concerningly high. At this point, Fawn was sent to Strong Memorial in Rochester, where they discovered her Leukemia. She has been in the Cancer Center at Strong ever since, receiving top-notch care from an excellent team of Doctors and Nurses.
Fawn’s daughters Kaylee and Jenna want to share that - “she remains optimistic and at peace with the path that has been set before her. She is incredibly strong and a fighter; we know she can beat this. We decided to set up this GoFundMe Account as an outlet in response to the outpouring of requests from all those that know and love her and want to help. We are so thankful for everything everyone has done for us, and we love you all. We just ask for prayers and lots of love sent our mom’s way.”
I believe that God will provide Mark, Fawn, Kaylee, and Jenna, with all that they need through this difficult journey. They have already seen an outpouring of people that want to help in any way possible. This GoFundMe account creates that opportunity, and there is a genuine need. At this point, Mark is on leave from work to focus on being with his Wife. He has the difficult task of balancing responsibilities for his home, that of his wife, his daughters, and himself. The drive to Rochester is two hours; that’s four hours of travel each day. Kaylee and Jenna are trying to balance work, taking over many of Fawn’s responsibilities within the home and spending precious time with their mother. Any help would ease the burden that might take them away from where their focus should be, on their Wife and Mother.
Sickness may fall upon us without choice, but Fawn is choosing which weapons to fight with, and she is doing it in typical Fawn fashion. With strength, grace, steadfast, unwavering faith, and calm amidst uncertain and difficult circumstances. She is choosing healing through prayer and speaking “his” truth over her life. She is taking a stand against this trial, and we can stand with her. We ask for continued prayers for Fawn. Matthew 18:20 promises, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them.” God’s word is medicine for our spirit, soul, and body, and we experience its power by speaking his truth and believing it.
