Farnum's Finest Fire Recovery Fund

On Friday evening, June 30, 2023, The Farnum’s Finest food truck caught afire in the driveway next to the Farnum home. The eldest son, Jeremiah was in the truck and had to leap through the fire into his fathers’ arms to get to safety. On June 12th, Shawn suffered a deep arm laceration from a fall coming out of the truck and just had emergency surgery June 14th to repair his tendons that were 90% severed. He had the cast on while trying to ensure the safe evacuation of the truck.

Although Shawn and his neighbor made valiant efforts to contain the spread, a second explosion caused the fire to spread to their home. The truck, the source of income, is totally lost, and the home, which is also the location of his bakery, is uninhabitable due to fire, water, and smoke damage. The family and bakery will be displaced for a minimum of 6 months.

For those who may not be familiar with this family’s sweet journey, Farnum’s Finest has been providing the community with sweet treats for the past 16 years and expanding to serving the local community through the phenomenal food truck within the last 3 years. Shawn has used this platform, not only as a means to support his family, but also to support former students who need to train for the workforce, raise future entrepreneurs, and leave a legacy for his own children.

We are grateful that no lives were lost in this, but we need your help. In this time of loss and rebuilding, we want to come together and show them the strength of our community near and far. The financial strain they are facing is far-reaching, including bills, and the basic needs of their family. We need to purchase a new truck so that Shawn can continue to generate income to support his family, serve the community at large, and provide the high-quality food and desserts we have come to know and love.
