Celebrate #GivingTuesday with us this year by helping the Superkids Foundation create a TV show! GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
At The Superkids Foundation we are raising money this year to continue providing literacy and leadership programs for kids in Coronel Oviedo, and the surrounding Caáguazu region in Paraguay. Since COVID-19, the Supekids Foundation has gone through a lot of changes. Following the local ministry of education's guidelines, we have transitioned almost entirely to virtual learning and have been using LOCAL TELEVISION CHANNELS to get our educational programs to our students safely in their homes.
In 2021 we will air 45 episodes, teaching letters of the alphabet to 20,000 children in the Caáguazu region! Each episode will teach early literacy skills in fun and dynamic ways similar to Sesame Street, but featuring the kids and sites of the Coronel Oviedo community and weaving in Paraguayan culture and stories.
One of our values is to believe in the power of children. We are involving our Kid Teachers in every step of the process. They have participated in zoom meetings with industry experts, helped write grants for filming equipment, helped generate character ideas for the programs, and are going to be the stars in every program. We are dedicated to helping our kids nurture their spirit of service and provide them with the training and opportunities to be agents of change in their communities.
With your help, we will be able to purchase technical equipment for filming and editing the episodes!
