Help Camp Wayfarer rebuild and recover
Donation protected
In the early morning hours of March 1st, Camp Wayfarer lost their Dining Hall, Kitchen and Lodge in a tragic fire. This building was the heart of camp, the epicenter of activity where everyone came to eat together, to sit and visit on its porches, and learn their first chords on the guitar in the lodge. It also housed their arts and crafts annex, as well as all the offices and administrative functions of the camp. On top of being the center of activity during camp, it’s also the place where many camp items were stored for the winter months. All the camp’s kayaks, canoes, pickleball equipment and nets, guitars, etc are a complete loss.
My children have attended camp the past 10 years and I am a camp mom. This place is a second home for my family as I know it has been for so many families over the past 30 years. We are just so sad over this loss. I know it was just building, but if ever a building came close to having a real heartbeat, it was this one.
So many people have reached out asking how they can help, so let’s show Camp some love and send some support to help them get through these next few months and prepare for Summer 2024!
Insurance money will eventually come to rebuild, but in the meantime they will have additional expenses of finding a solution for a temporary dining hall and kitchen for this summer as well as replacing important items to keep business running as usual.
Please reach out with any questions!!
