Brooklyn’s Cancer Battle
On October 28th, 2020 we received the devastating news that our 9 year old daughter Brooklyn has cancer. She was diagnosed with Stage 3, Group 3 Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS). Her primary tumor is located in her right lung, which is an extremely rare location for Rhabdomyosarcoma to first appear. There are only 31 documented cases like this worldwide, with Brooklyn being number 31. After a week full of numerous scans, biopsies and surgeries, she began her chemotherapy treatment on November 9th. Her treatment plan consists of 66 weeks of chemotherapy and 6 weeks of daily radiation starting in February. It’s a very long and painful process. She is so strong and such a fighter, however the chemotherapy has been making her very sick. It’s breaking our hearts seeing our little girl suffering. Thankfully she is not alone... together we will fight and we will win. We have a very long journey ahead of us, but with your prayers and support, I know that we will overcome this.
We have started this GoFundMe to help offset the costs of everyday expenses, travel expenses, bills, and any medical expenses not covered by insurance. Your donation will help alleviate the financial stress associated with a childhood cancer diagnosis so we can focus solely on Brooklyn’s recovery.
Brooklyn desperately wants to return to her normal life of being a 9 year old girl in the 4th grade. She wants to play with her 3 sisters and her puppy without getting tired and feeling sick. She wants to go back to school and enjoy her time left in elementary school and see all of her friends, classmates and teachers. She wants to be able to do all the things that any normal child gets to do.
We are asking everyone to please pray for our little girl. Pray that the chemotherapy will stop making her sick. Pray that she doesn’t get a fever, or an infection, or Covid. Pray that she will beat this cancer for good and be able to live a long healthy life. We thank you all for your prayers and support during this difficult time and we truly love and appreciate each and every one of you.
